Extra thick multi wood end grain butcher block cutting board at 12" x 12" x 1 3/8 " thick. Sanded smooth & oiled with food safe mineral oil. I will add heavy-duty anti-skid pads for $8.00 more.
Some of the hard wood used in my end grain boards are Black Walnut, Cherry, Ash, Hickory, Maple, Red Oak, White Oak and Beech. 12" x 12" x 1 3/8" thick are rough dimensions before sanding and should not vary more than 1/4" below rough dimensions.
End grain construction is more durable than a regular edge grain cutting board. It keeps your knives much sharper and your blades lasting longer. Instead of crushing against the wood fibers, the blade of the knife goes between them much like cutting into a firm brush.
