Some of the hard wood used in my end grain boards are Black Walnut, Cherry, Ash, Hickory, Maple, Red Oak, White Oak and Purple Heart.

End grain construction is more durable than a regular edge grain cutting board. It keeps your knives much sharper and your blades lasting longer. Instead of crushing against the wood fibers, the blade of the knife goes between them much like cutting into a firm brush.

I highly recommend adding the Anti-Skid Pads To keep your cutting board up off the wet or damp countertop. If your board dries evenly there is less chance of warping or cracking. I will add rubber Heavy-Duty Anti-Skid Pads-rubber feet mounted with stainless steel screws. For only $10.00 more.
