End grain construction is more durable than a regular edge grain cutting board. It keeps your knives much sharper and your blades lasting longer. Instead of crushing against the wood fibers, the blade of the knife goes between them much like cutting into a firm brush.

I'm very pleased with this cherry end-grain board. The small size is exactly what I was looking for to complement my other boards. Great deal and quality and finish. It does need a lot of cutting board oil. I gave it 8 oz before it felt ready to use.

I bought one larger end-grain board from Del. I also wanted two smaller ones, so I chose this beautiful cherry board and asked him if he would cut it in half for me. I appreciate that he took the extra trouble to do that, and round the new edges. The boards were carefully packed and quickly shipped. Del answered all my many questions beforehand. Thanks, Del!
